[12/26] Most Frequently Asked Questions
ANNOUNCEMENTS 2019.12.26

Greetings Adventurers!

There are only a few days left to send our farewells to 2019 and say hello to 2020! But first things first, thank you to all our Adventurers for the overwhelming support you have given us. We are truly humbled, and we will thrive to bring an even better Black Desert Mobile to repay the support!

We are currently working hard preparing for the new year with a lot of development and content in the pipeline. We have also kept our eyes and ears open to questions that you have been regularly asking about.

To answer some of them, we have compiled an FAQ. This FAQ will be in two parts. The first part will be a shorter FAQ section covering some in-game questions which are relatively simpler but still very important questions. The second part will be a longer section where we will answer some bigger questions. Without further ado, let us begin.

Q. Will my Black Spirit’s level reset when I create a new character?

A. No, it won’t reset! Black Spirit is an inseparable companion in Black Desert Mobile. The Black Spirit is bound to your Family not individual characters. This means that when you start a new character, you will not need to begin leveling up a new Black Spirit. However, please note that the Black Spirit cannot move to new servers so you will need to start again should you choose to start a new Family on a new Server.

Q. What is Family CP?

A. Family CP is the total sum of each of the characters’ CP in your Family. Although this might not seem useful for now, please remember that “Family” is one of the most crucial elements in Black Desert Mobile… so who knows? Someday, it might come in handy.

Q. When will you unlock max graphic settings on my device?

A. We have received a lot of requests regarding max settings, and we have been working on enabling max settings on devices. However, with the wide range of devices currently on the market and the vigorous testing each device requires, there is no denying that it is extremely time-consuming and is taking much longer than we (and you) would ideally want it to be. That is why we have been developing a new feature aimed to tackle the max settings issue.

When this feature is implemented into the game, Adventurers will be able to play Black Desert Mobile on maximum graphics regardless of the device they are using. However, if the device becomes overheated or the frame rate drops significantly, a notification will alert the users of the low performance issue, and the settings will be automatically re-adjusted.

Assuming development and testing goes to plan, we aim to have this feature added to the game as early as January of 2020.

Q. Will Black Desert Mobile service more languages? If so, when will that be?

A. One of our ultimate goals is to add more languages to Black Desert Mobile so that more users can enjoy the game in their native language. Currently, we are working on bringing Portuguese to Black Desert Mobile as mentioned in our Roadmap 2020. Please understand that although we aim to add more languages to the game, localization is upheld to the highest level of scrutiny just like any other part of the game. This requires much time in order to deliver not just a direct translation, but a properly localized Black Desert Mobile.

We are planning to add Korean on January 8th, 2020 (subject to change) as we have most of the UI and text already available. We are reviewing future language additions to the game, so don’t be disappointed that your native language is not supported just yet.

Q. There seems to be users using third-party programs for malicious purposes within the game. Will there be any kind of penalty regarding this?

A. Malicious usage of third-party programs within the game is a clear violation of the Black Desert Mobile Operational Policy.

Black Desert Mobile already provides many features that make gaming convenient. On top of that, our developers are constantly searching and testing out new ways to reduce inconveniences and add new conveniences to the game.

Our priority lies in servicing Black Desert Mobile so that Adventurers can play on equal grounds. We will continue to monitor all third-party programs used within the game and abusers of such programs and take the necessary steps to punish these users.

Please keep your account secure and do not share your account with anyone because any record of third-party programs used within the game is subject to punishment. This is to remind you that the account found to have used third party programs within the game will be punished.

※ We have reverted the bans that were issued on 12/26 to prevent any possibilities of Adventurers who may have been wrongly punished. We are currently developing a more sophisticated detection tool and will take appropriate actions on third-party program users.

Q. When will a new class be added? Can you share a release date on upcoming content?

A. As shown in our Roadmap 2020, we will add new classes and content every quarter. Please note that, if we plan to release 3 new classes in a quarter, it does not mean that we will release a class per month in that quarter. So, things are always subject to change. For instance, South Mediah was released earlier than we previously had planned due to us re-evaluating the game’s current environment.

We are aware that our Adventurers are eagerly waiting for more classes and content to be added to the global version. In order to meet the expectations, our team is doing the utmost to bring these new content and classes as soon as possible. However, we would like to ask for your patience since the global version is still in its infancy unlike the longer life cycles of the other versions. However, we are sure that the global version will also shape up to be great in its own way.

As our lead producer, Yong-min Jo mentioned in his interview, we are making small to big adjustments to the game as we see fit to better suit the global version. If you have a class or content that you wish to see in the global version, we have our eyes and ears open, so please keep all the feedback rolling in.

This concludes the FAQ. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and asking these important questions. Hearing what you think about the game is vital to the success of Black Desert Mobile, so keep those thoughts coming in! We hope to return soon with some exciting news for what’s coming in January.

Until then, Goodbye.
