Greetings, Adventurers.
This is the Black Desert Mobile Service Team.
We would like to provide details regarding the issue with the drop quantity of Destroyed Star Fragment mentioned in the Patch Notes on Oct 28 (Tue), and the upcoming retrieval of said item during the maintenance update on Nov 18 (Tue).
First, we would like to explain why this issue has occurred.
With the Adventuring Fervor update on Sep 16 (Tue), we increased the overall rewards across all hunting zones.
Hunting zones in West Calpheon drop the item "Fallen God's Remnants," which is exclusive to these zones, but do not drop items available in other hunting zones, such as Chaos Jewel or Ah'krad. Therefore, we implemented a 5% bonus for Silver in West Calpheon hunting zones compared to other zones.
However, during the process of adjusting the drop quantity for Destroyed Star Fragment, it was set to 180,000 per day (per 60,000 Adventuring Fervor consumed) instead of the intended quantity of 18,000.
Since each Destroyed Star Fragment sells for 421,000 Silver, a total of 7.578 billion Silver should have been obtained every day, assuming 60,000 Adventuring Fervor was consumed. However, in reality, a total of 75.78 billion Silver—an amount 10 times higher—was being obtained every day, resulting in an extra daily Silver income of 68.202 billion.
| Intention | Actual Amount | |
| Obtainable quantity of Destroyed Star Fragments per day | 18,000 | 180,000 |
| Total Silver Obtained by Selling to Vendors | 7,578,000,000 | 75,780,000,000 |
| Extra Silver income per day | 68,202,000,000 | |
This issue was raised by an Adventurer via an inquiry through Support. We immediately began investigating the issue, confirmed it, and adjusted the drop quantity of Destroyed Star Fragments during the update maintenance on Oct 28 (Tue).
180,000 Destroyed Star Fragments per day (assuming full depletion of 60,000 Adventuring Fervor) would mean that every Monster defeated would drop 3 Fragments.
And in Black Desert Mobile, every Monster defeated must drop at least one type of loot in normal hunting zones.
In other regions, Dark Coins are the default drop. However, since Dark Coins do not drop in West Calpheon hunting zones, Destroyed Star Fragments have been the default drop instead.
If the drop quantity of the item is reduced to 10%, it would mean that each Monster must drop 0.3 Destroyed Star Fragments. To adjust this value to 1 per Monster, we have adjusted both the drop quantity and the shop price to match the intended daily total Silver obtained: 7.578 billion Silver per day.
| Intention | Adjusted | |
| Obtainable quantity of Destroyed Star Fragments per day | 18,000 | 60,000 |
| Shop Price | 421,000 | 126,300 |
| Total Silver Obtained by Selling to Vendors | 7,578,000,000 | 7,578,000,000 |
Additionally, we have increased the drop quantity of Destroyed Star Fragments in Fallen God's Realm to ensure that the Silver income from this content remains unchanged.
We would like to express our sincerest apologies for the oversight in details affecting Silver and loot, both of which are crucial to character growth, and for the inconvenience caused to Adventurers.
Next, we'd like to inform you about the upcoming retrieval during the update maintenance on Nov 18 (Tue).
During the process of resolving this issue, we also discussed what measures should be taken regarding Adventurers who obtained the item through hunting or Black Spirit Mode.
Since it has already been two months since the issue first occurred, and it has been difficult for Adventurers to notice the anomaly due to the overall increase in rewards across all hunting zones, we also considered keeping the rewards as they are, despite the deviation from what was intended.
However, if Adventurers were to obtain 10 times the Silver compared to other hunting zones, it would severely impact the overall balance between hunting zones, so we have decided to adjust the quantity to the intended amount.
The discussion then moved on to measures for Adventurers who unknowingly obtained extra Destroyed Star Fragments.
Most Adventurers whose CP falls within the suggested CP for the West Calpheon hunting zones, as well as a few Adventurers who hunted in these zones for Fallen God's Remnants, have obtained Destroyed Star Fragments from these zones. The number of affected Adventurers in each region is as follows:
| AMERICAS | EUROPE | ASIA |
| 664 Adventurers | 1,126 Adventurers | 2,663 Adventurers |
Additionally, we have investigated how much Silver has been obtained beyond our intended scope, as well as the highest and lowest amounts of Silver retrieved from a single Adventurer:
| AMERICAS | EUROPE | ASIA | |
| Total Silver Obtained | 457,575,941,541,000 | 715,608,474,600,000 | 1,941,827,150,735,000 |
| Lowest amount of Silver retrieved from one Adventurer | 757,800 | 757,800 | 757,800 |
| Highest amount of Silver retrieved from one Adventurer | 2,861,486,901,000 | 2,933,348,317,200 | 2,932,909,929,900 |
In cases where abnormal acquisition of items or in-game currencies caused by flaws within the game system is detected, we have retrieved all items obtained beyond our intentions while resolving the issue and have provided compensation through additional events or rewards.
As for this circumstance, a significant amount of Silver is involved, and a large number of Adventurers are affected. To address this issue, all relevant personnel have participated in extensive discussions to find an adequate solution. Since the excess Silver obtained by Adventurers varies greatly, and it would be unfair to Adventurers who have not obtained loot from these hunting zones, we have decided to follow the same protocol and retrieve the excess Silver. While we understand that not all Adventurers may be satisfied with these measures, we will also add an event that provides extra Silver to compensate for the retrieval.
As one way to retrieve the Silver, we have also considered reverting all data of affected Adventurers back to the state before the update on Sep 16 (Tue). However, the excess Silver obtained has been used in so many different areas, and all the resources obtained from the additional CP gained with excess Silver would be impossible to track and revert.
In conclusion, any excess Destroyed Star Fragments will be retrieved based on their shop price in Silver, and all Adventurers who have obtained the item—either by hunting themselves or through Black Spirit Mode—will have 90% of the Silver obtained from selling the item retrieved.
However, Adventurers who have already spent the Silver earned from selling the loot may not have enough for the retrieval. Therefore, we have added a feature to only retrieve Silver beyond a threshold of 10 billion Silver needed for basic gameplay.
We deeply regret having to take such measures against this issue caused by our mistake in order to maintain the balance of the in-game economy and rewards in hunting zones.
We would like to apologize once again to Adventurers of Black Desert Mobile for any concerns caused by this issue.
Last but not least, we have looked into all the other hunting zones in Black Desert Mobile.
After a thorough investigation, we have also found that Adventurers hunting in certain zones with suggested CP between 6,700 and 10,400 have been obtaining fewer Sun Crystals than intended.
While the drop quantity of Sun Crystals has increased across all hunting zones with the Adventuring Fervor update, some hunting zones were omitted; the intended quantity is 300 Sun Crystals per 60,000 Adventuring Fervor consumed, while the actual quantity has been 0.2.
All Adventurers who have spent Adventuring Fervor in the affected hunting zones—either through hunting or Black Spirit Mode—between the maintenance on Sep 16 (Tue) and the maintenance on Nov 18 (Tue) will receive Sun Crystals based on the Adventuring Fervor spent in the affected hunting zones in future updates.
All the other hunting zones, including Open World regions, have been confirmed to be free from these issues.
We sincerely apologize for any concerns we have caused. To prevent similar issues from reoccurring, we will establish a final inspection process before each update. Should any abnormal data that deviates from our intended design be detected, we will take swift action to resolve it. Please rest assured that we are committed to doing our utmost to ensure your gameplay experience remains enjoyable.
Thank you.
