Ancient Anvil
Developer Commentary
The Ancient Anvil, previously announced at the Calpheon Ball 2025, is now live.
With this update, whenever you fail enhancement or awakened enhancement (hereinafter "enhancement"), the Ancient Anvil gauge will fill up. When the gauge is full, the Ancient Anvil will activate and the next enhancement attempt is guaranteed to succeed.
Many Adventurers have hesitated to attempt enhancement due to the low success rates and significant risks associated with failure in various enhancement systems. In 2023, we introduced updates such as Umbral Chaos Gear to reduce the burden of enhancement failure. However, even with safeguards against enhancement level drops, enhancement remained challenging for many Adventurers.
To further ease the burden of enhancement and let Adventurers embrace both the challenge and the growth from enhancements, we are adding the Ancient Anvil system. We will continue to introduce various systems that will improve your gameplay experience.

- Added a new system: "Ancient Anvil."
- The Ancient Anvil gauge for the current enhancement level will increase by 1 upon a failed enhancement attempt.
- When the gauge reaches the threshold, the Ancient Anvil will activate and the next enhancement attempt is guaranteed to succeed.
ㆍThe Anvil gauge for enchantment will increase with evey attempt that does not increase the stats.
ㆍGemstone of Tenacity and Gemstone of Determination's respective stats increase by 2 upon a successful refinement for stats of +101 or higher. The guaranteed refinement upon a full gauge will also increase the repsective stats by 2.
ㆍOnce your gauge is full, using the activated Ancient Anvil consumes the same enhancement materials as a regular enhancement attempt of the same type.
- The Anvil gauge will reset to 0 if enhancement succeeds before the gauge is full.
- The gauge will also fill up upon failed enhancement when the following items are used:

ㆍAs previously announced at the Calpheon Ball 2025, all failed enhancement attempts between Jul 1, 2025, and the update maintenance on Jan 13, 2026, are reflected in the initial Ancient Anvil gauge.
ㆍIf the initial Anvil gauge reaches the threshold, the next enhancement attempt for the item is guaranteed to succeed.
ㆍThe Anvil gauge will not fill above the threshold even if the number of failed enhancement attempts exceeds the threshold.
- A feature to view the Anvil gauges for levels higher than current levels is scheduled for a future update.

Character Traits
Developer Commentary
In Black Desert Mobile, each class has its own skills and traits, and some traits are shared among similar classes.
Utilizing these traits greatly helps resolve combat more efficiently.
With this update, we improved a few underwhelming traits by decreasing their activation cooldowns, adding additional effects, or enhancing their visual effects.
We are expecting these changes to increase the utility of these traits and their strategic use in combat.
We will continue to work on providing Adventurers with balanced combat while preserving the unique characteristics of each class and trait.
[Spirit's Protection]
- Affected Classes: Archmage, Igneous, Wizard, Shai
- Improved the visual effect to notify when the protection ends.
[Oblivion]
- Affected Classes: Reaper, Raven, Void Knight, Phantasma
- Decreased Cooldown (40 sec → 30 sec)
- Added the "Target DP -150" effect.
[Unhealing Wound]
- Affected Classes: Sura, Kunoichi, Kurenai, Hashashin
- Increased the effect of Decrease HP Recovery. (50% → 75%)
[Reprimand]
- Affected Classes: Paladin, Spiritwalker, Drakania, Letanas, Seraph
- Decreased Cooldown (60 sec → 50 sec)
[Cloud Conceal]
- Affected Classes: Dosa, Seonin, Maegu, Hwaryeong, Woosa, Choryeong
- Recover all MP and Combat Resource, and nullify all debuffs upon activation.
[Last Stand]
- Affected Classes: Destroyer, Solaris, Warlord, Zayed, Berserker
- Decreased Cooldown (120 sec → 90 sec)
- Reset all skill Cooldown upon activation. Decrease Attack/Move Speed Immunity while activated.
Windwalker
Developer Commentary
Windwalker is a class that excels at disrupting opponents through her outstanding agility.
Her melee combat benefits greatly from the "Wind Energy" effect, activated upon using a skill after three dash skills.
Since Wind Energy effect works best on non-dash skills, careful calculation is required to activate it on the right skill.
And when Wind Energy is activated, Adventurers often face dillemmas on whether to use a skill best suited for the moment or the one that maximizes the effect.
With this update, Wind Energy will no longer activate on dash skills,
allowing Adventurers to use the right skills and utilize the effect at the right moment.
Additionally, to address the issue where Windwalker lacked skills that could counter debuffs despite being a melee class,
we added Forward Guard to Ethereal Blast, enhancing her combat stability in melee combat.

Guidance of Wind
- Removed the "Super Armor for 1 sec upon Accelerate" effect.
"Guidance of Wind" effect
- Effects applied on the next skill used upon 3 stacks of "Wind Energy" (Forward Guard, Rear Super Armor, Damage Reduction, Grab Immunity, Next Skill Damage +30%) are no longer applied on Wind Knife, Gale Harvest, X-Strike, Spirit's Haven, and Cyclonic Fury.

Ethereal Blast
- Added Forward Guard and Rear Super Armor during the skill.

Gale Harvest
- Added the skill branches Aal and Ahib.
- The Enhancement "Increase Max Hits" will now be merged into the skill itself as follows.
- Changed PvE Damage. (6 hits → 2 hits)
ㆍ Lv 1: 371.05% → 371.05% x4
ㆍ Lv 10: 501.7% → 501.7% x4
- Changed PvP Damage. (6 hits → 2 hits)
ㆍ Lv 1: 144.84% → 144.84% x4

X-Strike
- Removed the skill branches Aal and Ahib.

Wind of the Spirit (Rabam Skill)
- Increased combo speed when comboing into Rupture.
(Combo duration: 3.96 sec → 3.51 sec)

Cyclonic Fury
- Increased PvE Damage.

ㆍ Lv 10: 683.7% x3 → 786.26% x3
- Increased PvP Damage.
ㆍ Lv 1: 159.47% x3 → 183.38% x3

- Increased the travel distance upon activating the enhancement "Increase Travel Distance." (8.47m → 10m)
- Chaser's Instinct and Guidance of Wind will now activate upon using any of the following skills three times: Wind Knife, Gale Harvest, X-Strike, Spirit's Haven, or Cyclonic Fury.
Huntress

Gale Harvest (Succession Skill)
- The Enhancement "Increase Max Hits" will now be merged into the skill itself as follows.
- Changed PvE Damage. (6 hits → 2 hits)

New Content and Improvements
Nightmare: Jade Starlight Forest
- Nightmare: Tshira has closed, and the Rift leading to Nightmare: Jade Starlight Forest has opened.
ㆍExploration time and Brand of the Nightmare will not reset.
- The Boss "Erebjork" will now enter a frenzy 3 minutes after it spawns.
ㆍErebjork's AP will increase and DP will decrease during the frenzy.
ㆍErebjork's frenzy will be nullified when Erebjork's HP drops below a certain threshold, temporarily dazing it.
- Normal Monsters in Levels I–II will now drop Voidsent Eye at a low chance upon defeat.
- Increased the rewards obtained upon defeating Erebjork.
ㆍRank 1 rewards for Level V remain unchanged. Rewards have increased by a greater amount at lower levels.
[Levels I–IV]
ㆍAdventurers of all Ranks will now obtain more Chaos Cores and Noble Tears of the Goddess upon defeating Erebjork.
[Level V]
ㆍAdventurers of Rank 2 or lower will now obtain more Chaos Cores and Noble Tears of the Goddess upon defeating Erebjork.
Changes in Quantities for Enhancement and Crafting Materials
Developer Commentary
With the notice "Early Notice on the Ancient Anvil System" on Dec 31 (Wed),
we announced an adjustment to the required materials for Eidolic gear enhancement to Exquisite Black Crystal x15
to balance the difference in the expected quantity of materials required between Eidolic gear and ordinary gear.
However, we noticed that the calculation wouldn't match how Adventurers evaluate the value of enhancement materials
if we take not only Restoration Scrolls but also Akhram Prophecy/Advice of Valks, Silver, Pristine Black Crystals, and time taken into account.
So, we re-evaluated the value of enhancement materials for both enhancement system and re-adjusted the enhancement material required for Eidolic gear.
Similar adjustments to the required materials have also been made to Severing gear.
- Adjusted the quantities of materials required for Awakened enhancement of Eidolic/Severing gear, restoration of Totem enhancement, and the recipes for crafting Totem Chests.

Developer Commentary
With the Ancient Anvil update, awakened enhancement materials for both Umbral Chaos gear and ordinary gear changed,
and some Adventurers may no longer wish to continue attempting enhancements for Umbral Chaos gear.
So, we added recipes to convert Umbral Chaos gear back to ordinary gear regardless of Umbral Chaos enhancement level.
Eidolic gear can be converted back to +8 gear, and Severing gear back to +7 gear.
Adventurers may now choose the enhancement method they prefer based on the materials they have or their playstyle.
Umbral Chaos Gear as An Alternative Enhancement System
Before the Ancient Anvil update, enhancement materials required for Umbral Chaos gear and ordinary gear were not significantly different.
But with this update, even if you set the quantity of Restoration Scrolls, Akhram Prophecy, or Advice of Valks to minimum,
the enhancement threshold will eventually guarantee a success if you have enough Pristine Black Crystals, Silver, and time,
which means Umbral Chaos gear would consume far more Restoration Scrolls than the ordinary awakened enhancement.
On the other hand, since you can craft Exquisite Black Crystal not only with Akhram Prophecy 100% but also 10% or 50%,
Umbral Chaos gear can be an alternative enhancement system if you do not have enough Akhram Prophecy 100%.
Plus, you can still gradually increase your CP since the enhancement level does not drop upon failed enhancement attempts.
So, we are keeping Umbral Chaos gear as an available option for gear enhancement.

- A tutorial on Adventuring Fervor will now be displayed when entering the Black Spirit screen for the first time after the update.

Dream Horse
- [Arduanatt] Increased the height of 2nd leap upon using Wings of Wind.

- The following items are no longer displayed as enhancement materials in Auto-Awakening.

- [Warlord] Improved an issue where the Increase Max HP effect of To Arms was not immediately reflected in the HP bar UI.

- Fixed an issue where the products would not refresh when moving between products at [Pearl Shop] - [Apperance/Dance/Pets] - [Outfits].
- Fixed an issue where mounting would occasionally fail in certain content.
- Fixed an issue where certain terrain would display abnormally in Mountain of Eternal Winter.
