Silver Denomination

Developer Commentary

Black Desert Mobile has been in service for a long time.
As the game continues to evolve, we have introduced a wide variety of content, leading to a steady increase in the amount of Silver Adventurers earn and hold.

However, as the scale of Silver grew, it became increasingly difficult for Adventurers to gauge their current Silver at a glance
or quickly grasp the prices of items listed on the Market.

As previously announced during the Calpheon Ball, we have overhauled the way Silver is displayed throughout the game.

This update focuses on improving readability and preventing potential errors by streamlining the display units, rather than adjusting the actual value of Silver or the game's economic balance.
The display for all Silver—including Silver currently owned by Adventurers, Market and Shop prices, and costs associated with various content—will be converted to 1/10,000 of the previous values.

Last week, we took preemptive measures regarding items with shop prices of less than 10,000 Silver.
Silver equal to their value before denomination has been distributed, and they are now no longer sellable to vendors.

Separate measures had to be taken for items with lingering decimals after the denomination,
items sold by NPC vendors that were below 10,000 Silver before the denomination,
or content that consumed less than 10,000 Silver upon entry.

Prices for items not in multiples of 10,000 were rounded up to the nearest integer to ensure their values did not decrease.

Prices for items sold by NPC vendors were adjusted accordingly, and items with values too low had their values increased,
or changed to be sold in bundles so that their values don't increase abruptly.

For items that Adventurers purchase in large quantities, including HP Potions or Medicinal Herb Tea,
we had to adjust the prices instead of making them into bundles since their weight could become an issue.

Entry costs for certain content slightly increased,
but considering the gameplay patterns of Adventurers, certain low-level content will no longer require Silver for entry.
Along with the denomination, adjustments were also made to the Merged Market: while item values remain the same, we adjusted both the intensity and frequency of price changes so that the market prices can better reflect supply and demand.

We hope these changes can help alleviate the inconvenience Adventurers previously faced,
and we'll continue to improve your gameplay experience in the future.

- Denominated Silver at 1/10,000 of its previous value.

ㆍ Adjusted all in-game Silver accordingly, including the Silver you own.

E.g., 1,000,000,000,000 (1 trillion) Silver → 100,000,000 (100 million) Silver
E.g., The market price of Caphras Ring changed from 6,000,000,000 (6 billion) Silver to 600,000 (600 thousand) Silver.

- Separate denomination ratios may apply to specific content.

E.g., Merchantry items: denominated at 1/2,000 of their previous values

- Some contents that consumed Silver will no longer consume Silver.

E.g., Cost for crafting certain items in Camp that is below 7,000 Silver: no longer requires Silver

- Changed the prices of items (for both buying or selling) and entry costs for contents due to the denomination.

Character

Developer Commentary

Wielding the massive Jordun infused with the flame of the Ynix,
Solaris dominates the battlefield by diving into enemies after neutralizing them.

With this update, we focused on emphasizing her fearless combat style, namely charging into the enemies without hesitation.

We increased the duration of Forward Guard applied with Ynix's Flame so that she can attack relentlessly in melee combat,
and boosted the damage or travel distance for some of her skills so that she can close the distance and land heavier blows.

We hope these changes allow Solaris to utilize her aggressive combat style much more effectively.

Ynix's Flame

- Increased duration for Forward Guard (1 sec → 1.2 sec).

Descent of the Flame

Archer rains down arrows while constantly dodging incoming attacks and delivers a decisive blow with concentrated power.

With this update, we focused on his agile and powerful combat shine more on the battlefield.

Additionally, we decreased the MP consumption of his skills so that he can continuously land powerful attacks on his foes.

We hope these changes allow Archer to perform at his best on the battlefield.

Lambent Smash

- Decreased skill cooldown (6 sec → 5 sec).

Fend Off

- Increased skill charges (1 → 2).

- Decreased MP consumed for 600 extra Fixed Damage on 1st hit upon using Winged Strike, Ensnare, Concentrated Blast, Scatter Shot, Luminous Barrage, or Radiant Barrage (50 → 35).

- Decreased MP consumed for 600 extra Fixed Damage on 1st hit upon Scatter Shot or Luminous Barrage (50 → 35).

Developer Commentary

Following the adjustments to character traits on Jan 13, this update features additional adjustments
to "Last Stand," which continued to show underwhelming results even after the previous improvements.

Since Last Stand is designed to severely damage the opponent even upon being killed,
we added Decrease Attack Speed and Decrease Move Speed debuffs to the opponent who triggers Last stand,
so that the trait effectively aids in pursuing the opponent.

We will continue to monitor and improve each trait so it can shine in various combat scenarios.

- Added potent debuff effects to be applied onto the character who triggered Last Stand.
ㆍEffect: Attack Speed and Move Speed -50% for 10 sec
ㆍAffected classes: Destroyer, Solaris, Warlord, Zayed, Berserker

Developer Commentary

There has been continuous feedback on the issue where a grab appears successful on screen but its effect is not applied to the target.

We have implemented several adjustments to address the issue, including the most recent improvement to network syncing on Dec 30 (Tue).
But the problem has persisted, so we made further improvements to address the fundamental issue with this update.

Here are the details on the analysis of this issue and the solution implemented with this update:

Grab skills in Black Desert Mobile are first processed on the Adventurers' app (client) to display the skill actions, then the result is transmitted to the server to determine whether the grab succeeded.

We identified a few cases where the skill animation for some classes would proceed to motions for successful/failed grabs even before the server could process the result.
This caused the character animation to proceed to the successful grab motion even before the server determined whether that grab was a success or not, resulting in a discrepancy between the animation and the actual result.

We concluded that accuracy and reliability of grab effect are more crucial to the gameplay than natural flow of animations.
Thus. we adjusted the action speed for certain classes with skill animations shorter than time required to process the grab.

This ensures sufficient time for the synchronization between the server and the app running on Adventurers' devices,
thereby reducing the discrepancy between what's shown on the screen and what's processed on the server, and improving the reliability of grab applications.

We will continue to do our best to provide a more refined and seamless combat environment.

Upcoming Updates

Developer Commentary

We have been closely monitoring a recurring issue in major battlefields, such as Node War and the Black Sun, where significant CP gaps have rendered attacks ineffective, leading to one-sided battles.

Furthermore, we have noticed that this issue has discouraged Adventurers from participating in such content, as the CP gap prevents their efforts from yielding meaningful results.

In our efforts to improve this situation, we identified that the feature that ensures a certain amount of damage even under significant CP differences was last calibrated three years ago.

The most recent update on minimum damage was on Mar 28, 2023, which made the damage floor scale based on the CP difference if enemy AP is lower than your DP.
However, since those adjustments were based on CP, HP, and HP Recovery data from three years ago, we felt the minimum damage should now be recalibrated to reflect the current stats of Adventurers.

With this in mind, we are preparing for another update on minimum damage calibration update during the maintenance on Mar 3 (Tue).

The battlefield should be fierce for every warrior, maintaining a constant sense of tension where anyone can turn the tide.
A true MMORPG battlefield should be a place where seemingly unyielding wall can be crushed when hundreds of miniscule forces unite.

When defeatism looms over the battlefield, both winners and losers are deprived of the joy of combat.

The fundamental issue we are addressing is the sense of helplessness on the battlefield. By resolving this, we expect more Adventurers to participate in large-scale battles and experience the joy of "fighting side by side."

Adventurers' dedication to continuously growth will not be in vain with this update. We assure you that high CP remains the most powerful weapon on the battlefield even after the update.

While many Adventurers are likely excited about the changes coming to the battlefield, there may also be concerns.
We will continue to monitor gameplay data as well as player feedback to ensure that the value of growth and the thrill of battle coexist in balance.

We look forward to more Adventuers joining large-scale PvP battlefields and finding their roles in such battles. Further details on the changes will be shared with you when the update is implemented.

- There will be no update maintenance on Feb 17 (Tue) due to the Lunar New Year holiday in Korea. The next update maintenance update is scheduled on Feb 24 (Tue).
