Hello, this is the Black Desert Mobile Service Team.

We've introduced our update roadmap during the 2022 Heidel Ball.

Even if you missed the livestream, you can check the following excerpt for detailed update plans."

The livestream can be replayed in the video below.

BDM Executive Head of Division Announcement Details

Hello. This is Chang-wook Kim, the Executive Head of Division of Black Desert Mobile.
It's been a while since we last met at the CalpheON Ball.
Due to the global situation that has been ongoing for the last few years, we've only been able to meet our Adventurers online, unfortunately.
To lessen the disappointment that may come from this, we've been periodically holding both Heidel Ball and CalpheON Ball.
We hope our Adventurers will find our efforts satisfactory.
Without further ado, let's begin!
We'll first look back on our progress over the first half of the year, then discuss the future roadmap of Black Desert Mobile.

[Previous Updates]

Our Black Desert Mobile studio has made various updates to bring you the content we mentioned during the CalpheON Ball in December 2021.

Especially with the Kamasylvia update, there were added elements that made gameplay feel different.
It started with the dream horse "Doom," then came Mirumok Watcher Offin and Ahib's Griffon.
Although not part of the original roadmap, Twisted Nightmare was updated on June 28.
"We hope you enjoy the action-packed, intense fighting between guilds as you see your tactics play out in Twisted Nightmare."
Boss Rush: Dim Tree Spirit will be added on July 12.

Ramoness

Many of you have requested that we extend the times when Ramoness Arena is available.
The current open times were decided in consideration of the time zone differences within our playerbase.
We were worried that our Adventurers would have to endure long waiting times for a match, so limitations were put so that more Adventurers can gather together during those times.
However, because of time zone differences, many GL server Adventurers have expressed how the time restrictions hampered their overall enjoyment of Ramoness Arena.
After an internal review, we saw our findings matched that of the feedback, which is why we have decided to remove these time restrictions on the weekends and allow Adventurers to enjoy Ramoness Arena at the time of their choice.
We will consider making further changes based on your feedback.

Atumach

We received suggestions that every guild should be able to participate in Atumach regardless of the number of occupied nodes.
As access to Atumach is a key reward and motivator in Node Wars, we don't yet have plans to change the basic policy where only guild members that have captured a node can participate in Atumach.
Instead, we are planning to improve Node War to be accessible to more players.

Arena

Also, Adventurers have asked for an increase in character HP, because certain skill combos could eliminate Adventurers in a single rotation in PvP content, such as in Karkea and Normal Arena.
Currently in the GL server, the damage of skills and character HP are tuned to benefit more aggressive play compared to other servers. We will adjust overall character health and damage to ensure that no Adventurer will be defeated by a single skill combo.

Treasure

We also received various suggestions on how to improve the process of collecting the materials for Orzeca's Treasures.
Some suggested that the materials should be tradable on the market, while others suggested higher drop rates.
It is difficult for us to increase the drop rates for these items or make them tradable.
Considering the time and effort that some Adventurers have already spent to acquire these hard-earned materials, it would not be fair to make these changes.

However, since Ornette's Blessed Potion can directly affect competitive content, we are planning to add a weaker potion called [Foretta's Blessed Potion] within the crafting process, to allow Adventurers to obtain it in steps.
Foretta's Blessed Potion recovers 700 HP per use, and can be crafted with 3 materials: Hadum's Lantern, Kamasylve's Delicate Leaf, and Atanis' Tranquility.
Ornette's Blessed Potion can be crafted by combining Foretta's Blessed Potion and the remaining 2 materials: Ancient Seed and Cipher of Light.

Roadmap

The Black Desert Mobile studio is receiving feedback from Adventurers worldwide.
We are planning the roadmap for the second half of 2022 so that we can implement as much feedback from our Adventurers as we can.
There are three main points to discuss.

First, there's CP and character progression.
New and returning Adventurers and Adventurers who still have a relatively low CP may find it difficult to try out newly added content.
In order to help low CP Adventurers who are stuck doing outdated content, we are planning to implement features for each CP range that'll help increase your CP and move on to newly updated content.
We'll provide more details on this in the next part of the ball.
We are developing new content that will allow even Adventurers with over 20,000 CP to experience faster character progression.

Last Tuesday we updated levels 2 and 3 to Ancient Ruins: Eternal, so that you can obtain the same great rewards given in the KR server.
You can loot [Harmonious Light] and [Twisted Time] from this content.
These are important items that are used in Chaos Alchemy Stone enhancement.
We're working hard on Chaos Alchemy Stones, so stay tuned for an update in the near future!

Next on our list is the expansion of PvP and guild content.
As our game is an MMORPG, we are planning to add content that diverse groups of Adventurers can enjoy.
One such piece of content can be enjoyed among guild members. Currently war content is reserved for Adventurers with high CP,
but we are planning to make it possible for Adventurers with relatively lower CP to access war content without having to struggle to reach a higher CP,
so that more Adventurers can enjoy war content.
Our developers planned this roadmap in order to reflect as much feedback gathered from our Adventurers as possible while providing new experiences and fun adventures in a wider variety of ways.

Finally, we'll talk more about future content.
We are planning to provide a variety of content for Adventurers with a high enough CP.
We will try our best to make the GL server catch up with the latest content in development on the KR server.
The plan will be carried out over time, depending on the circumstances concerning our global service. Our ultimate goal is to stay up-to-date with content that goes out in the KR server, starting from sometime this winter or in spring the following year.

2022 2nd half Updates

We've been holding many support events for new and returning Adventurers, especially those with lower CP.
Previously we had an entire system to support new/returning Adventurers, which have now changed into exclusive events for those Adventurers to help them adjust to character progression in Black Desert Mobile.
Currently the events are designed to support up to 12,000 CP, which is enough to complete North Valencia.
However, we realized that Adventurers around 12,000 CP were either stuck or progressing at a very slow pace.
They were almost done with obtaining every piece of Primal Gear and Accessory, and while they were able to enhance their gear, it was still difficult for them to obtain more accessories. Knowledge levels for Boss Rush and Ancient Ruins were only about 20, and Hadum Knowledge still had a long way to go.
Everything would go smoothly until Enhancement and Knowledge came into play. CP would only increase if enough time and effort was put in, so Adventurers are met with this drastic change of pace without warning.
We believe that many Adventurers will feel like they're stuck due to this sudden change of pace.
This is why we are planning a few updates that will help out Adventurers around this point in the game.

To drastically shorten the time required to collect Hadum Knowledge up to Mediah, we are planning to add a Hadum variant to Field of Valor that takes 5 minutes per run.
Currently it is easier than ever to acquire Hadum Knowledge thanks to the Scout Hadum feature, and more so with the number of allowed dispatches increased with further updates. However, it still takes a considerable amount of time to collect the Hadum Knowledge of all regions.
It will take around 2 months for a new Adventurer to complete up to Mediah.
Each run of Hadum: Field of Valor will last 5 minutes, and it can be entered 6 times every week.
These limits were put in place to ensure that this content wouldn't interfere too much with regular farming.
You can select one of the 8 regions, and enemies inside the Field of Valor will drop chests containing Hadum Knowledge of every enemy from the selected region.
It will take an average of 6 entries to max out the Hadum Knowledge for a single region, assuming you started at knowledge level 1. With this new content alongside Scout Hadum, completing Hadum Knowledge will only take half the time it used to.

Also, if you have less than 100 Knowledge levels in bosses up to Mediah or Kabuamilles of the Ancient Ruins, a x2 multiplier will be applied when acquiring knowledge experience for those bosses.
This will allow Adventurers to gain around 1000 CP in a relatively short amount of time from a total of 10 bosses that grant CP through Knowledge.

Additionally, we plan to increase the level limit for Blazing Chaos Crystals from 100 to 150, and increase the daily mission rewards to 2, for faster Rift Stone progression.
Although we've already tripled the drop rate of Blazing Chaos Crystal and increased the number of zones it can be dropped from, we're increasing the level limit because Adventurers weren't able to take full advantage of these changes.

Also, we know that our Adventurers nearing 20,000 CP were starting to have a hard time gathering enhancement and craft materials, such as Chaos Jewels, Akhram Prophecies, and Secret Books.
To assist you in this part, we are preparing new 3-player co-op content named Party Rush.
Through defeating enemies in South and East Valencia and after, you can obtain an item called [Party Rush: Cadry Gatekeeper].
Using this item will allow you to invite a Blood Kin or Guild member to your party, regardless of CP.
Invited party members can participate without spending entry items.
Every player will get basic rewards, and the party leader will gain additional rewards.
The reward ratio will be around 60% for the leader, and 20% for the others.
The main rewards are Chaos Core, Chaos Jewel, Akhram Prophecy, Secret Book, Lapiz Lazuli, and Inscribed Glyph, similar to the rewards obtained in Chaos Rifts.
We will first provide an update for a Mystical Party Rush, and we are planning to add an Abyssal Party Rush in the future.
Higher grade Party Rushes will have better rewards.
Through these reinforcements to Knowledge levels, Rift Stone levels, and the added rewards from Party Rush, we believe that Adventurers will be able to progress more consistently to catch up to the most recent content updates.

Moving on to our second topic.
We are preparing a new Node War with added rules, and Battlefield of the Sun: Siege War.
Endgame content focused on competition, conflict, and war is pivotal for an MMORPG.
Not only does it give you a thrill that no other content can provide, it is self-sustaining content that can endlessly be reshaped by its players.
In Black Desert Mobile, we have Node War, Siege War, and other such competitive content.
And within this, guilds form the foundation from which this content flourishes.
Adventurers weaving their stories together, and the joint emotional investment that stems from those stories are what we believe to be the factors that make our game truly enjoyable.
We intend to reinforce this aspect of our game.
To expand PvP content, it is necessary to reinforce the guild system first.
We think that guilds are currently lacking a system that allows members to form tight bonds.
Members work on their own guild quests separately, and while Guild Rush does encourage cooperation, we believe that more cooperative features must be added in.
We are making these efforts through updating guild-related content, such as Atumach and Twisted Nightmare, but it is not enough to motivate members to form closer bonds.
We are planning to introduce updates that will allow even smaller guilds to come together, and slowly expand their reach while also enjoying the content.
On top of that, we also think that some war content should be accessible to casual players.
We think that adding cannons and tactical elephants to Battlefield of the Sun was a step in the right direction, as we have more Adventurers trying it out than ever.
Experiencing and enjoying war content will provide Adventurers with the motivation to progress and catch up to the newest content.

Let's talk about Battlefield of the Sun: Siege War.
Like Battlefield of the Sun, which is already in-game, you'll go back in time to a Siege War that happened long ago.
You'll likely be able to enjoy this in a more light-hearted way.
Within this historical setting, Adventurers will assume the role of a fighter defending Calpheon, or as aggressors fighting on behalf of Valencia.
We are planning to place cannons and elephants so that even Adventurers with relatively low CP can still play a role.
The defenders' goal is to defend their castle for a certain duration of time, while the attackers are trying to take over the castle.
Except for a few differences, such as destroying bridges, the ruleset will be nearly identical to Siege War, allowing you to experience what Siege War is like. We are currently thinking of having the total play time be around 10 minutes.

Next, we are adding new nodes with max CP limits to Tier 1 Node War.
A Tier 1 Node War can be a good first goal for a guild who has just readied their base for progression.
We were originally planning to show you the unique appeal of Node Wars, in which you cooperate with your guild members, find who among you is the cream of the crop, and encourage each other for an enjoyable experience.
However, the increase in our Adventurers' average CP over time has led to a seemingly insurmountable gap that often results in one-sided combat.
To fulfill our original intent, we've decided to add a new Node War with a max CP limit of 20,000 that can hold a maximum of 25 participants.

Now moving on to the addition of guild content.
We are planning to add more content that can be enjoyed with guild members.
We made improvements to PvP content during the first half of the year, so we plan on adding more PvE content during the second half.
The aforementioned Party Rush can also be considered as one such piece of guild content.
In addition to that, Guild Elite Rush is in development.
As you can glean from its name, Guild Elite Rush is content in which 10 of the strongest members in a guild participate in a challenge to defeat bosses.
Each floor has a difficulty level and you can clear through the floors one by one with your guild members.
The Guild Master or one of the Guild Officers can use a ticket to begin.
Tickets are given out once per day, and up to 7 tickets can be stored.
There will be time restrictions and the difficulty will increase each level to keep the content challenging.
You can obtain rewards that can be shared among guild members upon successfully defeating bosses.
A special guild skill will also be added.  This skill's level will increase as you reach higher floors of Guild Elite Rush. Also, there's a ranking system that keeps track of the last cleared level, which means your guild can become more honorable by being a part of the rankings.

The third topic of discussion regards new content.
We are planning to add Chaos Alchemy Stone with the update on July 19.
There are currently 8 types of Alchemy Stones and each have different properties and usages.
Since there are a variety of types and ways to use them, Adventurers have had to go through the inconvenience of equipping a different alchemy stone for each piece of content.
And while certain types such as Enhanced, Luck, Savage, and Brave are very popular, other Alchemy Stones see less frequent use.
We wanted to focus on improving upon this inconvenience via Chaos Alchemy Stones.

For the more frequently-used Alchemy Stones, they can be upgraded from Primal to Chaos. You can then combine Chaos-grade Enhanced, Luck, Savage, and Brave Alchemy Stones with the new item, [Harmony Alchemy Stone].
Equipping the Harmony Alchemy Stone will grant you the effects of all the combined Chaos Alchemy Stones so that you won't have to switch between them depending on the content.
On the other hand, for the niche Alchemy Stones, they will stay at Primal to lessen the burden of crafting Chaos Alchemy Stones.
You can awaken Chaos Alchemy Stones after completing the relevant story. Twisted Time and Harmonious Light are required materials to enhance awakened Harmony Alchemy Stones.
You can loot Harmonious Light from Chaos Rift 2 or from Twisted Nightmare. Twisted Time can be obtained from Ahib's Griffon and also from Ancient Ruins: Eternal and with a low chance.

We are adding a new Chaos Rift, called Mirumok Primeval Forest, with a 35,000 CP requirement, and a new Chaos-grade ring called [Ring of Frenzy].
You have a low chance to loot [Shattered Ring of Frenzy] in the Mirumok Primeval Forest.
Rumors say that this ring appeared from beyond the otherworldly rift, and that it contains mysterious energies within.
The Ring of Frenzy is an accessory that has all the stats of the already existing Chaos Ring, with additional features.
With it equipped, there is a chance on hit to spawn a Muskan Specter that will attack nearby enemies.
We'll continue to add more special endgame items like this to make item farming more exciting.

Considering the CP level of our Adventurers, we're hoping that we'll be able to provide the Drieghan region update by this fall.
The Adventurer defeated Illezra in battle and got ahold of the power of chaos.
To control this massive power, the Adventurer travels to Drieghan in hopes of borrowing the wisdom of the descendants of the Sherekhan, who defeated the Dragons.
Drieghan's theme is "the land of dragons," so we are planning to add new dragon-like bosses in Drieghan.
Improvements will be made to the overall loot system. While maintaining the value of loot obtained at the recommended CP, we made improvements so that the expected amount of loot will increase with more enemies defeated.

Also, we reorganized the loot in Drieghan so that the reward value is maintained, but the inconvenience of having to take further actions is lessened, such as repeatedly opening chests, crafting, and absorbing.
In addition, we made it so that "Violent" monsters spawn less frequently, and improved rewards from hunting field mobs to narrow the gap between this and farming "Violent" monsters.

We are finally revealing more details regarding fairies.
As mentioned earlier, the story for the fairies begins as you collect hints from Kamasylvia.
The process of meeting your fairy will not be too complicated.
As you progress through the storyline, you will encounter the fairy by tracking down hints, so that you can get to know your fairy naturally.

The first fairy you'll meet will not be fully grown.
It will be a tiny fairy full of curiosity as it encounters the world for the first time.
In our studio, we nicknamed this fairy "Cabbage," and because of how cute it looks, we feel like this fairy is even more lovable than fully grown fairies.
A tiny fairy in its childhood has two types of interactions: "Chat" and "Requests."
"Chat" will increase your Amity with the fairy, and the fairy's traits will develop depending on your replies.
Although these traits are hidden during the fairy's childhood, it will affect its adulthood, which we'll explain in a moment.
The other interaction, "Requests," is where Adventurers can help fulfill the fairy's wishes.
These mainly include requests where the fairy asks for information on things that spark their curiosity, and things they want to learn more about as the fairy travels the world with the Adventurer.
To give you some examples of these requests, the fairy may wonder why Santo Manzi blushes whenever he sees Eileen, why Shakatu likes the color yellow, and so on. You can give the fairy answers to these questions, which will increase your Amity with the fairy.
As you may have already realized, we wanted to make the fairy not only a partner in your adventures throughout the world of Black Desert, but also a precious creature to whom you must teach a lot of things to and take care of.
If you reach a certain Amity level after a time, the fairy will reach adulthood.
Its appearance will drastically change to what you saw on the screen earlier.  The color of its hair and wings will change depending on the characteristics developed by your interactions during its childhood.

Fairies can have one characteristic out of three: friendly, energetic, or aloof.
Characteristics are formed by a combination of two different traits.
A fairy with optimistic and sweet traits will be friendly.
A fairy with curious and bold traits will be energetic.
A fairy with relaxed and honest traits will be aloof.
These characteristics will be expressed in different colors. Also, there's another very special fairy, but we'll keep the details a secret so that you can find that out on your own. Your fairy's characteristics will continue to change, depending on how you interact with your fairy.

Once the fairy reaches adulthood, "Research" will be added to the interaction menu.
Think of Research as the fairy's process of learning about the world.
If you fulfill the fairy's curiosity in this process, it will learn various concepts on its own as well.
This leads to earning study levels, and the higher the fairy's study level is, the better the effects will be for various skills.
Fairy skills will be helpful in adventuring the world of Black Desert. There are a variety of unique fairy skills, one of which will allow auto-offering when Black Rock Shrines appear in the Great Desert, as we have revealed earlier.

Also, the tier of your fairy can rise through Sprouting, and it'll be able to learn more skills.
There are many ways to grow your fairy, such as saving a variety of your fairy's appearances in the album.
More details will be provided through the patch notes with the update.
We hope our explanation on fairies was enough, despite it being just images and words.
We'll make our best efforts so we can present it to our Adventurers by August.

That is indeed Drakania, the only hope that remains for the dragons.
Drakania wields her main weapon, the Slayer, forged from slain dragons' desires, and her sub-weapon, the Shard, forged from her own dragon scales.
Her key characteristic is that she gathers ions to enhance herself and to perform charged, wide-range AoE attacks.
Drakania can activate her passive skill "Ion Stockpile" up to 2 stages to enhance her stats and skills for a certain period of time.
Because of this, the key for Drakania will be to engage in combat while maintaining this 2nd stage enhancement as much as possible.
Also, when using a fully-charged skill during the 2nd stage, her skill damage becomes powerful enough to partially break through Forward Guard.
However, using it may result in being counterattacked, as it will require some time to fully charge.
This trait will encourage you to make strategic decisions during combat, in order to land as many charged attacks as you can.
We did our best to allow you to meet Drakania as soon as possible.
Pre-creation is available from July 2, 21:00 (Server time), and it will be playable after the update on July 5.

And so, it is time to wrap up our in-depth talk about the roadmap of Black Desert Mobile and future improvements based on your suggestions.
The reason Black Desert Mobile was able to maintain service for 3 long years was thanks to the active feedback from our Adventurers.
As a developer, I cannot express in words how grateful I am to each and every one of you for continuing to enjoy the world that we have created.
Thank you again. This was Chang-wook Kim, Executive Head of Division of Black Desert Mobile.
